Everyone I met had a mobile phone. The two Masai warriors who took us on a trek through the Rift valley had mobiles.
M-pesa was everywhere, everyone used it, every shack shop in a three goat village had M-pesa signs painted on it. No-one had heard of Bitcoin but they were all interested when they understood that the charges were minimal in comparison to M-pesa.
I'm pretty convinced that if Bitcoin can steal M-pesa's lunch then Africa could lead the way in world adoption.
