Do VPN clients further anonymize Bitcoin blockchain records?

I'm not really sure what tracking data is added to the blockchain and was wondering if a VPN client, along with Tor browsing, could keep a transaction anonymous. If not, is it possible? If not, why not? Ha thanks in advance via /r/Bitcoin http://bit.ly/248GOOG
