Expedia nightmare

I've used bitcoin to book a place on Expedia before and it worked perfectly fine. But around 5 weeks ago I attempted to book a hotel and although the payment was shown as sent on my Coinbase page, the timer on the Expedia payment page ran out before "receiving" the payment. For 5 weeks I have been on the phone with and emailing both Expedia and Coinbase, neither of whom seem to want to do anything about the almost 600 dollars I'm missing even I have shown them that the payment on my Coinbase account went through. Expedia tells me they can't do anything because there's no itinerary number and therefore they can't find anything in the system, and Coinbase tells me that whether or not Coinbase handles the Bitcoins, Expedia holds the account so it's still responsible for issuing a refund. If anyone has any suggestions about what actions I can take from here or if there are any specific representatives I can contact, it would be highly appreciated. From reading the past experiences with Expedia on this sub, I have a feeling it's Coinbase who is responsible for this.
