Roger Ver, ViaBTC and now this Huang Shiliang at the head of the miners conference in China. Entities making a LOT of noise, endlessly repeating talking points of how bitcoin has stalled, how Core is killing bitcoin, how raising the blocksize limit agressively is the only way to save bitcoin. Meanwhile the other side, the side that doesn't view block size increase as an effective scaling solution, but rather a threat to decentralization. The side that has the overwhelming majority of developers, the side that represents a coherent vision for bitcoin moving forward, with constant innovation. They keep silent in the debate. They let the FUD play its course. The only notable exception are Gregory Maxwell being rewarded with a torrent of downvotes over at r/btc for adressing their accusations, misunderstanding and downright lies.
Is all of this noise from the big block camp just that, noise? Or is it actually influencing miners, businesses and the broader community? I believe the overwhelming majority of both good arguments and intellectual capacity reside with the side that wants to see Segwit implemented and have faith in Core. Where are their voices? Why are they not uniting and presenting a common front in support of Core?
If the narrative being presented is true, that the chinese miners are actually close to being swayed and manipulated into supporting Bitcoin Unlimited, it is not only very worrying for bitcoin, but disappointing that so many competent and influential people have allowed it to happen without raising their voice in a very firm way.
