There seem to be various network-optimization features coming down the pipeline for BTC. What will the impact of the Lightning Network, Segwit, and batching be for SHA256 miners?
There seem to be two schools of thought. The people who support these new features say that even if mining fees go down, these new features will make everyday transactions feasible, thus increasing the total number of transactions on the network. So, even though the fees are less, the increase of total number of transactions results in overall mining profit staying stable. However, others say that mining profit will go down.
Who is right?
