Solo mining for Gits and Shiggles
I run a full Bitcoin node. Lately I've been playing around with setting up solo mining with BFGMiner, just experimenting with CPUs and GPUs, in full knowledge its a purely academic thing with zero chance of succeeding, intending only to deepen my understanding of the system. Seems to work well, for the most part.
Except when I point my S9's at the pool, I only get about 250 GH instead of 13.5 TH each. I've made sure to turn off overt asciboost when I point them at my experiment, no effect, and they definitely are connected. Does anyone else play around with this stuff and might know the solution already?
FWIW: Ubuntu Bitcoin Core v0.17 BFGMiner v5.5.0
Bitcoin.conf, server, daemon, listen, and txindex set to 1. rpcuser and rpcpassword are set, rpcallowip and rpcport are all good(and proven as I can connect other pcs over the LAN just fine for cpu/gpu)
BFGMiner -o http://127.0.01:8332 -u user - pword --generate-to $address --coinbase-sig "LOL" --stratum-port:3333
Any suggestions?

Today is not Bitcoin's birthday!
Happy holiday, everyone! And no, not Halloween. Today is a special day. 10 years have passed since Satoshi released the white paper of Bitcoin. Happy birthday, white paper! Bitcoin's birthday though is on Jan 3, when the genesis block was "mined" back in 2009. On 31 Oct 2008 Bitcoin didn't yet exist.

Here is a batch transaction of ~14BTC sent out today from BitWage, https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tree/384914557
I like to think of all receivers here as members of the resistance, converting a percentage of their salary to BTC every week/month, real devotees.
They are most likely not speculators, since selling isn't allowed on Bitwage, just buying. And you don't have fine control over when to buy either, it happens shortly after your paycheck gets deposited and invoice created.
No, these people just like buying bitcoin. They like how it feels to give the middle finger.
Sure they're not big institutional investors, but they put their shoulder to the wheel every week buying whatever fraction they can. All those fractions add up.

Help Needed: Is there any way to tell which batch a Bitmain S9 came from by the serial number?
I am trying to figure out which batch my S9's came from. I purchased them through a third-party and wanted to know if they came from different batches and if so, which month/year.
I was able to check which batch (time period) the PSU's came from because they have a 365 day warranty and I was able to check (https://service.bitmain.com/support/warranty) how many days were left on the warranty to deduce the date of item dispatch, but the warranty has already expired on the S9s (S9s only have 180 days warranty vs PSUs 365)

Craig Wright actually did completely original research! Just kidding, I caught him blatantly plagiarizing yet again.
New plagiarism from this paper.
Here are the two uncited sources: source 1 and source 2. There may be more uncited sources, but I got bored. These two sources cover almost half of the paper.
As before, the plagiarism is blatant and intentional. He basically substituted the word 'transaction' for 'infection' and made minimal other textual changes. All the math has been stolen because Craig simply can't do math.
Various Examples:
and (maybe the most obvious -- just click back and forth on these two images)
