I’m thinking about getting like a s9 or whatever for a few hundred bucks. How would I run it?

Would I need to hook it up to my computer permenantly or just hook it up once to enter the address to mine to (really noobish at computers). Sorry for my blatant confusion and pardon typos cause it’s 2 am.
