I lived through the financial crisis of 2008, and as a mortgage broker, it was extremely difficult to keep my head above water. Mortgage activity was reduced to basically zero, and I cycled through several second jobs just to cover my own personal expenses.I heard about Bitcoin and like everyone in the beginning, I thought it was a novelty at best, more likely to end up as some sort of gaming currency than anything like it has become today. Plus, it took every dollar I earned just to keep no creditor more than 60 days in arrears. It was a REALLY tough time, for about 2 and a half years.I managed to keep the company solvent and was happy to enjoy the next decade or so of prosperity, and did very well, until the recent economic dumpster fire began earlier this year. Now I have time to think back....The painful part :I had a room full of Dell PowerEdge servers that either sat idle, or churned away completing SETI@home work units (for fun) while business was in the crapper. Had I understood what Bitcoin would become, or even considered the possibility, I could have mined more satoshi than Satoshi himself.Instead, I am still here sitting at my desk like the Maytag repairman, just staring at a phone that is not ringing... via /r/Bitcoin https://bit.ly/3baKgJ9
