Brazil Legalizes Bitcoin as a Method of Payment

In order to save the planet, I vow to use only zero-emissions, 100% electric Bitcoin miners. I would strongly urge anyone that genuinely cares about our planet to use only electric Bitcoin miners.

Now that Brazil has recognised Bitcoin as a legal payment method does that mean you can buy a house a car etc just like you would with fiat.??

Why I am so bullish on the lighting network

Ok first of all it makes sense to think about the current version of instant payment. Credit cards. Why isn't a credit card enough?

Well, we all are forced to use credit cards in our daily lives and to risk our funds in the bank. If you think about how credit cards are even designed it really makes you wonder why on earth would I put all my sensitive data on a piece of plastic readable for everyone finding the card. Leading to unauthorised transactions which skyrocketed the last decade.

From a merchant perspective the support of credit card payments comes with two mayor disadvantages:

  • Banks function as gatekeepers
  • High fees for accepting credit card payments

Well... if only there was an innovative solution for this problem.

The lighting network.

The lighting network as a layer 2 payment protocol on top of Bitcoin addresses these problems.
It is intended to enable fast transactions among participating members and enhances the privacy and speed of Bitcoin payments, while maintaining the same level of security.
There is no gatekeeper. Anyone with a $50 smartphone can send money to any institution accepting lightning payments without any restrictions and without any record of the payment being made.
The fees are usually a few sats, not even measurable in fiat currency at the time. What is a fee of 1-5 sats? $0.000169 to $0.00084? Close to nothing.
Compare that to the current fees merchants are being charged for credit card payments and try to convince me merchants are not interested in adopting lightning payments.
Compare the amount of possible transactions per seconds. While payment processors like Visa and Mastercard are able to handle 65.000 transactions per second, the lightning network averages 1.000.000 transactions per second, making it the most efficient payment system to be ever existed.

Privacy by design. No record of any payment on the lightning network is stored anywhere. Do you think the same applies to your current banking institution? I believe it does not.

2 BTC Questions❓️

How does 21 million btc scale or spread out for use amongst 8 billion (and growing) people across the earth (not to mention corporations)? I know 1 btc equals 100 million satoshis. But when a company like Micro Strategies already owns hundreds of thousands btc, how does that get distributed amongst the masses?Smart contracts... Btc was not invented for this purpose. Do people not see the value in this technology? Do you not think this tech will be used in the future? You need a L1 to accomplish the use of smart contracts, correct? Will there/can there be a decentralized L1 for the purpose of smart contracts? via /r/Bitcoin https://bit.ly/3ONpYoA

How did FTX money dissapear if its crypto on the blockchain? I thought money can’t disappear on the blockchain?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’m trying to understand what FTX is. Is it like a Coinbase? How did FTX money dissapear if its crypto on the blockchain? I thought money can’t disappear on the blockchain? If it’s like Coinbase, does that mean your money in Coinbase is not on the blockchain? If money can just disappear and be used like that, isn’t it more like a centralized bank? And if there are no clear regulations on these decentralized banks off the blockchain, then wouldn’t my money be safer in a centralized bank? I really don’t get how crypto disappears. Isn’t that the whole point of crypto?!! The blockchain?

I am a whole Bitcoiner again but it’s not for the reason you might think

I’ve been researching a lot of altcoins for the past year and I am quite honestly tired of spending or wasting all that time looking at charts and hoping to make money.

I could be doing other productive things like studying and making apps to contribute to society. But I am wasting my precious time and hard earned money into what I’d call a gambling at this point.

I just bought a whole Bitcoin and this will be my final time to spend even one minute into looking at crypto market. I will not touch my Bitcoin for many years.

Until then, I am gonna focus my energy on studying and improving my skills to actually do something with my life. Bitcoin is great but it’s not worth wasting my time and life over.

Buy Bitcoin before the banks and governments do

"The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that’s required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust.

Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve. We have to trust them with our privacy, trust them not to let identity thieves drain our accounts." - Satoshi Nakamoto

Wholecoiner brag post

I know these kinds of posts are lame, but I didn’t anticipate that it would feel like such an accomplishment, and obviously I’m not about to go sharing the news with anyone I know irl. So thanks for indulging me.

After about three years of steady DCA, in which I managed to quit a financially self-destructive bad habit and start two side hustles, I was able to cross the whole coin threshold today.

Yes, this is an alt account I created just to make this post. No, I did not leave a single sat on any CEX. If any of you are like me, and barely have two nickels to rub together after buying food for the month, paying bills, and raising kids, I would just encourage you to keep slowly and steadily DCAing, because the future arrives quickly. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Personally it doesn't matter what is happening. The potential of Cryptocurrency and specially Bitcoin far outweighs all of the of the traditional Fiat Banking systems COMBINED. Why else do you think the Governments of the world are racing to put out CBDC's? it is because they know the inevitable. When you take a Farmer from Venezuela who has one of the worst currencies on Earth with an inflation rate of 300%, and only with a mobile phone, connect him with another farmer in Lebanon who likewise lives in a Bankrupt nation... Literal magic happens when they transact in Bitcoin. No more Government, no more middleman & certainly no more Bank. No more traveling and waiting in line to get your own money, no more openning hours and no more Inflation via the money printer.Projects without good code, good leadership or gamble customer funds are 100% welcome to fail. The difference between Cryptocurrency and the traditional monetary system is there are no bail outs. via /r/Bitcoin https://bit.ly/3gl5NS3

I think bitcoin is the only coin you can currently trust.

Do you think we can ever trust alternative coins again? And why?

I am about to convert all my altcoins to BTC that's why i'm asking.

Nothing has changed for Bitcoin with the situation of FTX etc. Bitcoin is the only coin that is really decentralized. Everything that is happening with the altcoins is mirrored on the BTC. Which is actually irrational. So all prices are down so switching from Altcoins to BTC would not be so painful. I think that BTC is becoming more important due to the current situation.
What do you think about my theory?
