Father Died in 2015: Any idea how to find his wallet adress?
Not to make this opening far too long but my Father pased in a tragic accident in 2015. He was always very "techy" and into whatever was new in the tech world. We know he had bought bitcoin, it was a huge fight between my mom and him when he did.
I am about ready to go off to college and made it my mission to find this secret vault of college funds before I go off and away.
Given that it is 2024, and he died almost ten years ago, we have no access to any computers, phones or emails he had. (I do know his primary emails if that helps)
Is it a total shot in the dark to try and be one of the mythical few to find and unlock a dead wallet?
I come to you all, as a young woman who has some base line knowledge in the crypto world and no real ideas on how to track his wallet down.
I know that he did buy and sell, that he often did so with his LAN buddies during the events. Would it help if I asked for thier wallets to try and backtrace?
Are there any recommend steps I should take?
Note: I already tried coinbase, all the emails that I did know had no hits, of course, he may have had a hidden email for trading, which, is entirely possible.
Thank you in advance if you do happen to read this and toss any assistance in.

Dollar vs BTC
Anyone else still in the red on their BTC investment?
So like many I jumped on the bitcoin bandwagon in 2021 hoping to make a quick buck, I put in a good amount of money for me - but not so much that I couldn't afford to lose. It then obviously collapsed in 2022.
I decided not to sell, as if I sell then I've definitely made a loss, but if I wait then chances are there'd be another bull run.
Since then I've educated myself properly on Bitcoin, how it works, it's reason for existence, and come to appreciate it for the asset it is and could become. I now won't sell as I believe it will be my best investment in the long run.
Edit: I couldn’t DCA for a lot of the dip because I’d bought a house and my money went to getting that set up.
However, with how much I have spent on BTC (inc transaction fees), compared to its current value in USD, I am still down -13%. I haven't been in 'profit' since Jan 2021. I'm hoping the numbers will turn black shortly once ETFs start to impact, and the halving limits supplies, but I will continue to hold. I imagine most people who bought back then haven't held.
Now I know this might annoy those who hate to see BTC as an investment, but I was wondering if any other longer term holders are also in the same situation.

Like Paul Revere said “The ETFs are coming! The ETFs are coming!”
This is BTC's internal combustion moment
"The Canadian ETF wasn't a big deal." "The approval of the futures ETF wasn't a big deal." These and a dozen other "but muh" rationalizations pooh-poohing the impact of this week's ETF miss the point.
Bitcoin is a commodity. All commodities have small and niche markets - until they don't.
Look at petroleum. It's not a modern commodity. It is mentioned as a sealant and lubricant in the oldest book of the Bible. The ancient Greeks used it for war. The ancient Chinese made fertilizer from it. The first gasoline company opened in Pennsylvania in the 1700's. It was used all through the steam revolution for lubricants. It quietly replaced whale oil and coal gas. All this time, it was a smaller niche product, hard and expensive to acquire and transport.
Then came the internal combustion engine. Almost overnight, petroleum exploded into what it is today. Technologies were developed at breakneck speed to use it, refine it, transport it, and make it easy to understand and use for the common person. New uses were found for it, like plastics and chemical production. Standards and grades of product were developed by private industry and later codified.
The value of the oil and gas industry today has nothing in common with what came before. Nobody before the internal combustion engine could have imagined where that would take petroleum. Plastics, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, explosives - all these derivatives and more came about because the internal combustion engine made petroleum worth investing time and money into.
This ETF, the updated FASB rules, the halving to harder than gold, the beginnings of the sovereign rush to bitcoin, all of it is a convergence. It is bitcoin's internal combustion engine. It is so much bigger than just another ETF. Only fools try to see this as another cycle of the same. You will be rekt and left behind.
