A family member of mine owns a medium size company and they have what is basically a fixed contract when it comes to electricity which they don’t nearly cap, so he accepted that i use an empty room for whatever i need completely free and see what i can do with it.
I have a feeling i can make a lot happen with what i have here and it’s a good opportunity for me but i’m not exactly sure how to go at it.
The room is airconditioned with a big airconditioner but i need to know what else i’ll need and how i can make the miners less noisy inside the room (and is humidity a problem, i’m in a country in africa and it goes up to 42c in summer outside?)
I’ve been in shambles whether to go for a GPU rig or ASICs but asics seem like they’re definitely the better option so far.
I don’t wanna cheap out and buy things like antminers s9 but i also only have about $10-15k to work with and i wanna make the best out of them. Should i preorder Z15s? Should i go for some s17s? I’ve made some calculations and i think up to 25000 watts should be alright
How long should i expect an ASICs lifetime to be? How do i maintain so that i can make the most out of it? Is repairing them an option? (Is it as easy as changing the fans, the psu, hashingboards or control boards?)
How should i arrange the miners or position them, keep them cool and dry (will the ac and some fans be enough?) and take precaution incase one starts smoking or so?
And last but not least.. is this even a good idea? Do you guys think i will be able to ROI or with the amount of questions I have I might aswell find another hobby?
