An Open Letter to the Bitcoin Communities.

I wish we could try to drop all the contentious language, hyperbolic accusations and instead patch our wounds. Forget the scars. Try to achieve peace. There's so many incredibly smart people in this space on both sides of the issue and reason stands on both sides of the argument. It's a shame the way emotion has been dominating the community. I see that stemming from the Theymos' controversial moderation choices, Mike's dialectic techniques and a prolongated bear trend acting as a catalyst, inciting fear and doubt in many's hearts. But that's not what this post is about.Discussing online is not easy and much of the discussion would be friendlier in person. After all, I don't run into bitcoiners that often and if I did, I would rejoice to meet a brother to talk about these topics IRL rather than hurt them or attack them over disagreement.I have been told that what I'm saying it's all fine and dandy but we're not here to sit together and sing Kumba-ya.Well, I beg to differ. All I ask from you is to remember Hal Finney's example and standards. His corteous and kind tone, even when arguing about strong disagreements.Let him be a guiding inspiration. We can have disagreements and still be gentlemen about it.Don't let personal provocations get to you. Be strong, as they reveal a weakness that is more in your interlocutors than in yourself. So help them out. There's nothing that can damage bitcoin, and perhaps even kill it, more than a weak, divided community while the protocol is still in need of developing.Bitcoin's best enemies know this. via /r/Bitcoin http://bit.ly/1SUkyWD
