All currencies are exclusively valued by the consensus of those who hold them.

Lots of important people use the dollar and lots of smart people spend their lives trying to benevolently guide it's valuation. The dollar is as stable and safe as it gets.

But you do not control the dollar.

You have no say in the benevolent policy of manipulation. You have no power over it's rules, regulations, or controls. Your consensus determines the dollars worth at this moment, but nothing beyond that.

The people who control the dollar don't care what you think or what you want. They do not love you implicitly, they do not value your interests above their own, you know this to be true. You gave up your freedom in exchange for safety without even noticing. You have been shown a better way. Literally in every aspect, a better way. You no longer have any excuse from ignorance.

No one controls Bitcoin because everyone controls Bitcoin. If the price swings wildly it's because we collectively decided that it should. A Bitcoin is worth what it is actually worth, sorry, markets are scary. They're scary because the reality they model is fucking scary. Things change in reality, often drastically and with great speed.

Fear. That’s the price the brave pay to be free from trust. But it's nowhere near the price you will pay when your ill placed trust is betrayed.

And it will be betrayed. As long as that trust exists, it will inevitably be betrayed.
