With my modest means I've been accumulating a few mBTC per week for some time, and wanted to wait until I reached a nice round number to sweep all my dust into cold storage.
Yesterday I reached my goal and went to make the transaction and, with twenty-something inputs using Mycelium's priority level fee, it was suggesting that I pay over £20 in fees! Something like 1300 sat/byte.
I didn't see any posts on here, and I briefly looked at some mempool stats which didn't look abnormal. Then a few hours later i went back and the fee was only 148 sat/byte so i went ahead and got into the next block.
So, what was all that about?
