How to "Send" and "Receive"

I don't understand the mechanics of BTC and I'd like to learn either by good explanation or by testing.Is there any way to do test transactions? Like an exchange that offers free .000001BTC so you can test how to do it?Once I convert some fiat into BTC, I guess I'll be able to play but I'm nervous because I don't yet understand "Send" and "Receive" well enough to know how to get the BTC off of the exchange and onto my wallet.It's like: usually to get something into a piece of software on my computer, I click "download now" and the PDF opens in Adobe or whatever. But I don't get how bitcoin floating in the ether gets into the wallet on my computer.I know this seems like a really silly question to you all but can you see how it's an important one for a noob?I've read a million docs but if you have some to recommend I'll read those too. via /r/Bitcoin http://bit.ly/2dECcyd
