Hi,
I've had an old USB Block Erupter solo mining on ckpool.org for quite a long time, and it's been chugging away at 330 MH/s no problem.
But recently, I cannot get it to mine at all. I am running the latest version of CGMiner, compiled with --enable-icarus, and it gives the following error repeatedly:
[2016-10-02 13:52:36.914] AMU 1: No valid hashes for over 384 secs, attempting to reset [2016-10-02 13:52:37.095] AMU 1 attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS [2016-10-02 13:53:27.517] AMU 1: Device failed to respond to restart [2016-10-02 13:53:27.529] AMU 1 failure, disabling! [2016-10-02 13:53:33.310] Hotplug: Icarus added AMU 2
It is always fails at 384 seconds, and then hotplug picks it up again pretty quickly.
The CGMiner hashrate indicator seems to show that it is working fine, it usually shows ~330 MH/s but then it randomly spikes up to ~50 GH/s, which I imagine is a false reading.
I just tried mining on SlushPool and my dashboard isn't picking up anything at all, the worker is just disabled.
Is this because the 330 MH/s Block Erupter is too old, and cannot hash anything with the 241 billion network difficulty?
Or has it burned out from years of continuous use and I need to buy a new one?
Thanks!
