Repurpose antminer beaglebone board

I have a couple of old antminer s5 units.

Since it's pretty much pointless to keep them running now, I was thinking I could atleast salvage the beaglebone black control boards that come with them and use them for something else.

Anyone have any experience doing that? How do I power the board? How can u flash the firmware on it to install Linux or some embedded OS?
