It is safe to assume we will be seeing Twitter accept Bitcoin payments for account verification very soon. Thoughts?

$8/month for account verification to combat bots essentially confirmed. LN tipping service already built-in to Twitter. Elon has hinted at plans to accept his favourite shitcoin.

It would have to be an active decision to not include Bitcoin LN payments for the account verification they plan on adding, as Michael Saylor suggested to him in (roughly) the first quarter of this year.

Edit:

There seems to be a bit of doubt from a few here.

Jack Mallers made a tweet in reply to Elon about 40 minutes ago mentioning the following;

“Lightning (instant + near-free #bitcoin  payments) should be an accepted payment method.

Would allow for global, inclusive, private payments (important for pseudonymous users) that are cash-final (no chargebacks).

Services like @CashApp already support these payments”

And

“My company (@Strike) partnered with @Twitter to enable Lightning tips. We even offer the ability to settle these payments in USD, so there is no extra lift for @Twitter (settles and reported like a card payment)

This can be implemented in days given we already have a partnership”

Bitcoin Magazine, whom Elon has spoken to numerous times on Twitter also said;

“Let's make this happen, for the better of Twitter @elonmusk”

So, he is very aware that it would be almost as simple as the flick of a switch to enable Bitcoin payments for his Twitter subscription service.

Time will tell, but I feel confident in saying it will happen either at launch, or shortly thereafter.
