Can I use bitcoin as a minor?

I love to make transactions online and I would love to use bitcoin. The idea seemed cool so I made an account on Coinbase. I have my own card and bank account, but I can't actually purchase or sell bitcoin. Am I screwed? I have legal permission from my guardian. via /r/Bitcoin http://bit.ly/290W7ce
