During the tour, the guide asked us to think of a few payment methods. People mentioned credit cards, cash, Apple Pay, etc. After those were mentioned, the tour guide (A Federal Reserve employee)mentioned BITCOIN (without ANY previous mention or prompt) and said that the the Federal Reserve was working to integrate Blockchain technology, and that they considered it the future.
