Since the mods in here often mess with the default sort order I thought it would be useful for people to know that you can override this in your reddit preferences.
Go to your reddit preferences and check that sort comments by is set to your preferred sort order. Then check the box below it that says ignore suggested sorts. Then click the save options button at the bottom of the page.
Enjoy the consistent sort order!
