The main metric used to estimate the value of bitcoin is USD, but as more USD are printed and faith in the USD deteriorates this metric loses meaning.
Dividing hash rate by a running estimate of average mining rig efficiency would give us energy consumed/heat dissipated: a sustainable metric for a post-dollar world.
Has anyone tried to graph this metric, or even the efficiency of mining rigs over time?
