USB Block erupter is not being recognized by my raspberry pi - any thoughts?

So I'm trying to learn how to operate a simple miner, not for profit, but just to learn how it all works.

I'm using a powered USB hub together with a raspberry pi running bfgminer and for some reason my block erupter isn't being recognized by bfgminer. Mining does happen at around 150mhash/s but I would assume that's the CPU or GPU of the raspberry pi itself rather than my device.

I've searched around and really don't have a clue how to proceed :(

Any thoughts?
