Can someone ELI5 what the halving is and why people think it will make bitcoin go up

When I see people talking about the halving there seems to be great confidence and a shared understanding that it is going to make BTC 🚀. Why?Can someone explain what this is to me and why we think it’s pretty sure fire for it to increase BTC significantly? via /r/Bitcoin https://bit.ly/46m2cHz
