Darknet Markets were Bitcoin's first killer app. And like it or not it's still it's most popular mainstream use. But surely given the anonymity flaws with Bitcoin there's a better more anonymous coin out there now? And if not there will be soon. If another super-anonymous altcoin became preferred for the dark markets how might Bitcoin react to such a threat? Become more anonymous to compete? Or conceded and gain more 'legitimacy', shake off the crime and terror reputation and cop all the ramifications of Bitcoin not being the best anonymous digital currency out there.
How would it cope losing such a 'killer app'?
This is inevitably coming so worth discussing now.
