Thank you r/Bitcoin! Because of Bitcoin I was able to afford to flight home and see my Dad one last time.

Some background information first: I have been a passive r/bitcoin member for a while. My friend who is an active member recommended me to invest in some bitcoin and also join the group. Like most people I was very wary first but I really enjoyed reading the posts and enjoyed getting more knowledgable about bitcoin by the community. Because of the community I bought my first little share of bitcoin with as much as I could afford a few years ago and have been hodling ever since. It's because of the community that I also bought a Trezor. This happened a while ago but I wanted to share my story with the community because I feel I need to thank every single one of you. Onto my story.I'm an English teacher in China based in Shanghai but originally from the UK. So stating the obvious by saying I'm pretty far away from home.I got a Skype call from my mum saying the worst thing possible, that my dad had been taking seriously ill and was in hospital. It was late evening for me in China and I was absolutely devastated. I'm very close to my dad and all I wanted to do is go home and get to him ASAP. But I certainly didn't have enough money to afford a direct flight back home that night after paying my rent, a few bills, shopping and a few nights of drinking. So without hesitation I sold what bitcoin I had. I put on my VPN and went to localbitcoins and sold it for the best price I could. I got the payment within 15 mins and in the next 15 mins I had booked the first direct flight for the next morning along with a letter to my boss explaining my situation. As you can probably guess it was not cheap at all.I will cut a long story short. My bitcoin managed to get me not only a flight home last minute, but a very long, anxious and not so cheap London black cab ride to the hospital whereby some miracle my dad was still alive. Within the next 24 hours my dad peacefully passed away with the whole family by his side.I'm welling up now thinking about it, so I can't write for too long.I want to just say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the r/bitcoin community. Unknowingly you helped me make one of the best decisions of my life, whereby I was able to last minute I was able to say goodbye to my father one last time.If it wasn't for you I would have been sitting by myself in China when my family and especially my dad needed me the most. via /r/Bitcoin http://bit.ly/2z3soby
