Let me first start off by saying I am by no means an expert in Bitcoin mining or quantum computers. But after learning a lot about both I began to wonder about the possibility of:

Quantum computers eventually dominating Bitcoin mining, especially as governments and big companies with the right resources get involved.

The speed of quantum computers allowing people to successfully tamper with previous blocks on the chain and complete all subsequent calculations before the next block is hashed, thus altering the chain and making the Bitcoin illegitimate.
Any thoughts from real experts in either fields?
