Is anyone else concerned with the prospect of a cashless society in the future?

I bring it up here because bitcoin obviously fits the bill for a potential digital currency in the future and we are all proponents and fans of it. While there are a great many benefits to having a fully digital cashless society what really concerns me is the idea of being trapped within a rigid system without alternatives? I mean currently with cash you can operate outside of a system dictated by authorities. If you were an outcast you could still purchase food for yourself... but a completely controlled cashless system opens up the potential for having your funds "turned off" and having everything you purchase tracked. This happens now with card payments obviously, but with an official cashless society there would be no escape. via /r/Bitcoin http://bit.ly/1l1ia3h
