Recently I went to a talk given by Kevin O'Leary, the investor from Dragons' Den and Sharks' Tank shows. He talked about his investment philosophy, briefly, it consists of investing in dividend-paying stocks and bonds.
When I asked him about his plans, if any, to invest in bitcoin, my expectations where quite low. However, not only he knew what bitcoin was, according to his comments, he wanted to invest 5% of his portfolio in the digital currency, but held off because "the guy who was going to sell it couldn't explain how bitcoin worked." Kevin added that he has nothing against bitcoin, but the lack of understanding is the reason it's not part of his investment.
I found this exchange reflective of bitcoin's gradual entry into the mainstream and quite encouraging for the near-to midterm growth prospects.
