Antminer S9 hash board troubles

so i purchased 2 s9s in the November batch. both of them worked fine for the first few weeks with some minor problems that usually disappeared on reboot. recently one of the hash boards has be reporting extremely low hash rates anywhere from 9 to 500 g/hash with ever increasing HW error counts. sometimes rarely the board will work on reset but that is become less frequent. after updating the firmware the board shows up but does not display any hashrate. I have tried everything from swapping power supplies, changing circuits, cables, updating firmware but nothing seems to work. the asic status show no x's for chips so i think the chips are fine. temps were normal when the machine was working fine but are now low on the board with the low hashrate. updating the firmware on the machine has caused the temps of the functioning boards to shoot up in high 80s compared to low 70s high 60s. also side question. my other untouched factory firmware machine has a different version of linux than the malfunctioning machine that i just upgraded to the latest firmware. it seems like the firmware that these things shipped with is not available for download on bitmain's website. any help would be appreciated an i can provide any info necessary
