My home produces excess power through solar panels and a ground source heat pump. Would mining be a worthwhile way to use the excess?

I've been looking at this for a while now but I'm pretty confused by the wildly varying opinions I find on mining. From what I've managed to find out for myself, the general consensus seems to be that if you haven't taken up mining by now you've missed the boat, but that that is the case because you'll struggle to make more than you pay in electricity bills. But what if you are producing your own power?

I produce about 2-14kw during the summer. Would that be enough to make mining a worthwhile investment?
