People selling gold for Bitcoin, said my local gold dealer

Been slowly selling my gold coin collection over the past couple years and changing it into Bitcoin. Usually at the spot price, sometimes over spot, but this last time was UNDER spot. The store owner says that he has too much gold now that people are dumping it for this "Bitcoin thing."
